Yesterday Pam and I spent the afternoon walking (well, with a week until my due date I was admittedly waddling) around the Boston Flower & Garden Show.
As always, there were impressive displays. Most kept it seasonal and didn’t force out-of-season plants to bloom in time for installation. Newly-leafed trees, flowering branches and bulbs abounded.
There were also impressive details like this planted chandelier. Bird’s Nest Ferns were tucked into an iron showstopper, then surrounded with a ring of pillar candles.
Vertical wall planters
Blooms like this Foxglove remind us of the beauty that spring brings.
Vibrant accents and outdoor seating exemplified this year’s theme:
First Impressions - Adding WOW Factor to Outdoor Spaces
The ever-popular Hellebores was EVERYWHERE.
Florists took on the challenge of creating high fashion headpieces for a special display. Impressive, especially when you consider that these pieces need to weather 5 days under the hot tradeshow lights.
The “it” color of 2012, Pantone’s Tangerine Tango has quite the presence as well.
Curb your spring fever and visit the show at the Seaport World Trade Center
