Seasonal Beauties

Inspiration certainly isn’t hard to come by this time of year.  Seasonal blooms abound, making our job that much more enjoyable.  Not only does the floral selection broaden, but there is greater opportunity to procure products from the US as opposed to international markets.

IMG_2747These classic beauties were plucked from the laden bushes in my very own front garden.  Containers of peonies grace just about every level plane in our house at the moment! I nestled these into a corner on the desktop in the office.  If I must be cooped up inside with paperwork and wedding details on a beautiful day like today, the task seems easier with these cheery flowers in the corner of my eye.

And yes, that is a bright green painting of a chipmunk and I love it. It was proudly purchased at an Artists for Humanity open house.

NH State Wildflower in Bloom

IMG_6445

The pink lady’s slipper, Cypripedium acaule, is the official state wildflower of New Hampshire. Also know as moccasin flower, it is native to the state and grows most prevalently in moist wooded areas. I found this one under the pines behind our potting shed. These showy blooms generally pop up between May and June. Keep a lookout for them during your next trek into the wilderness!

One month from today!

6 19 2006 004 (3)

The Condon/O’Neil wedding is just a month away!  After almost a year and a half of planning, we are pulling together the last details of the event.  Among those details: the flowers!  You would think as florists this would be the first check off the list.  However, walking through the flower markets each week only makes this decision harder!  It will probably come down to what looks best in the market that week.  We do know there will be peonies.  Kristin’s favorite flower and in season!

Stay tuned for the wedding pictures!
